After a long day driving, my wife and I rolled into town tired and hungry. Sadly, we left when we learned this place didn't have food. (Full meals - not just snacks). However, staff was friendly and didn't treat us rudely. We just wanted food. However, we returned the following night for drinks only. The bartender was friendly and willing to listen and create our requests. Our drinks were outstanding. Coming from a metro area, our drinks were twice the strength at half the cost. Thankfully our motel was within walking distance.

The saloon wasn't busy but we were also there Wednesday and Thursday. We were able to enjoy the best seats in town. Literally. The panoramic view and tasty/stiff drinks was a great cap to the evening.

My husband and I both love the old west and we both wanted to experience what it looked or was like; so, we decided to visit Virginia City, NV. Even though it was a mining town with it's Victorian buildings, it has all the characteristics of the old west as I perceive it.

When we arrived, we left the car at the lodging place and started exploring. How lucky of us to have followed the piano music that was drifting from the Bucket of Blood Saloon, established in 1876. We walked in and it felt as if we had stepped back in time, the old fashioned bar, full bar might I add, the old piano I imagine, tuned to play music of the era, old fashioned pop corn machine, the pictures dating back over a 100 years covering the walls, the wooden floors, and the chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The place is amazing, and having the live piano music adds even more character to this place

It was warm when we walked in, but the bar was air conditioned, the beers were cold, and the piano and bartender ladies were just awesome. The experience was just what we were looking for.

There was an uncomfortable situation with one of the locals wearing a maga hat. This man was sitting at the bar when we walked in, he kept staring at us as we sat down and, out of nowhere, he says how proud he is of his or of the current president, loud enough for everyone to hear, especially us. We did not turn or engaged,  the piano and bartender ladies started talking to us after hearing the comment, diffusing the situation. I need to clarify that we are both Hispanic US citizens and were the only POC in there, I am a little darker than my husband, we are both bilingual but prefer to speak Spanish between the two of us; were some of these the reasons why that person decided to mention the current chief of staff? I believe so, and it's so unfortunate because I always believed that as a tourist, I could go anywhere I wanted but I learned that my skin color makes a difference in certain places.

We are both very appreciative of and very grateful to the two ladies for looking beyond our skin color treating us with the respect we deserved; had it not been for them, our experience wouldn't have been what it was

I could only stop in here for a few minutes, as I was on my way out of town.  The music from the bar and the sound of a lively crowd drew me in!

I cannot wait to come back here someday.  The music was awesome and it is a big bar with happy patrons.  It sounded like they had a back patio as well.

The service was quick and great - The only thing that was odd was the small wine glasses.  The perfect place to hangout in town

Attending a conference in Reno, we took a drive on Saturday to Virginia City. Such a cool little town with an authentic old time feel. Our first place to stop was the Bucket of Blood Saloon. So happy we stopped in for a drink!! The bartenders were super nice and gave us a great pour in our whiskey and cokes! The waitress was in an authentic costume, lots of people walking around in period costumes, and the old timers were playing some great old tunes, one on a steel guitar !!
If you're in the area of Virginia City, I definitely recommend stopping by the Bucket of Blood Saloon.
